The kids thought it was just hilarious to label our friend with descriptive adjectives today. We will find out tomorrow if this fun idea helped our learning stick with us! :)

Journeys Kindergarten Sight Word Rings
I just finished making this yesterday and am in the process of cutting and laminating the sight word rings. My plan is for my kids to know which ring color they are working on. They can pull their ring to work on with a para, a parent or me. I also made a little sticker book for them to keep track of the words they have mastered and some assessment pages and data pages. I will post more pictures when I get it all together better. Until then, I am ready to veg out and watch some Chiefs football!

A GREAT first week of Kindergarten
This is my FIRST year in Kindergarten after ten years in first. I absolutely LOVED our first week. The little ones are so excited about everything we do. There was a lot less crying from all of us than I had expected. We started learning routines and procedures and expectations for behavior and they did AMAZING. So proud of them all. You can see our reading area in the picture above. They made their names with cereal and the hanging red thing is a Clifford art project we made for Red Day.

Welcome to Primary Basics!
I am so excited to start on this new journey. It has been my dream to begin this daunting task for quite a few years and I am determined to accomplish it this summer! I look forward to sharing my experiences and ideas with other educators and meeting new people with new ideas. Please bear with me as I try to figure this whole thing out.
